My 1999 Grand Marquis has had 2 rebuilt transmissions. It was a rental. Buyers beware because most 1 or 2 years old cars are rentals sold to various dealers. A good price can be had. The only thing is that in 30 years of renting cars most of them have had some kind of major defect.

needed all four wheel brakes at 22000 miles.Ford says"Thats the way there built" Noisey Lots of wind noise seems like poor design. Very large to handle inthe city. Not a great paint job

the accessories are very unreliable. My car has been back to the dealer about 12 times in the 3 years Ive owned. Bad speed control; bad keyless entry pad; bad AC (twice); windshield wipers have been worked on at least 6 times (replaced 5 times) and they still stutter across the windshield. Almost no storage room in passenger compartment. When drinks are in the drink holders, you cant access the AC controls. Rides rough for such a large car. Inadequate leg room in the back.

I got this car at 40,000 miles for free from my dad. It took some getting used to but it is alright for now. Its too floaty and cant get comfortable in the front seats. Ford needs to redesign this 70s interior. Pay me a couple hundred grand and I will tell you how to do it Ford. It is obvious you are overpaying your help with this one. The only thing I like about it is it has not broken down yet. What the heck is wrong with Ford for not having anti-lock brakes standard on this car. Give me a break. Its like I am in my dads Impala from the 70s. The car has decent headlights and hopefully will get me around this winter with no problem.
